City bicycle:
Whether going to town for work or play, the city bicycle is perfect for you. Very similar to the traditional Dutch bicycle, these bikes are easy to use and handle.
An economical buy if you’re working with a small budget because you can get one for as little as £100.
Hybrid Bicycle:
For a sturdy bike that doesn’t skimp on comfort, the hybrid bike combines both the features of a mountain and road bike. They are also less costly than all terrain bicycles, with prices ranging from £99 to £2000
Mountain Bike (MTB):
Perfect for “off road” treks to the mountains or for the cycling fanatic who loves the outdoors, the mountain bike handles rugged terrain and it typically has a sturdy frame that handles more stress and usage than a regular bicycle. Front wheel suspension and the number of speeds play a key role in choosing a mountain bike.
There are many versions available: aluminium = light, carbon fibre = competition, titanium = resistance.
Prices range between £88 and £3,000 for a good quality bike.
Road Bicycle:
For road cycling choose a road bike; they’re very lightweight and aerodynamic. The dropped handle bars and thin wheels sacrifice comfort for speed, but these bikes fall into a higher price bracket between £200 to £7000.
Don’t forget the necessary accessories: bike helmet, biking shoes, biking gloves, cycling jersey.

need advise as to whether i should choose between hybrid or toad bike,,,,,, making my first bicycling trip to france (loire valley) and i have the option between hybrid or road/ i typically ride a road bike but as i am going to average 40-50 miles per day am considering a hybrid (i had back surgery a couple of years ago) and i’m worried that this distance may tire my back but i like the lightness and speed of my road bike (and as i haven’t ever ridden a hybrid am worried about the cumbersome of it??) so what does anyone suggest???
